joins e-Services
Philippines 2005, the largest BPO event in the Philippines.
e-Services
Philippines, the countrys largest IT enabled services (ITES)
and outsourcing expo, will take place February 17-18, 2005 at the
EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Manila according to Assistant Secretary Felicitas
Agoncillo-Reyes, executive director of the Center for International
Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the trade promotions arm
of the Department of Trade and Industry and organizer of the event.
A business
conference featuring prominent international ITES experts, senior
executives, and top government officials will take place concurrent
to the expo.
Now in
its fifth year the 2005 exhibit will feature the countrys
best and brightest global ITES providers in six key areas: animation,
business process outsourcing, contact centers, medical transcription,
software development, and engineering and design, according to Reyes.
The exhibit
will also feature companies that provide products and services to
local IT outsourcing firms, as well as government agencies offering
electronic constituency services, and other institutions offering
examples of groundbreaking IT innovation.
e-Services
Philippines is organized annually to showcase the world-class capabilities
of Philippine ITES providers, help sustain and grow investor interest
in the Philippines, and generate business opportunities for ITES
providers, related businesses, and IT professionals.
This
years exhibit featured over one hundred exhibitors, drew approximately
4,000 visitors from around the world, and served as an arena for
the initiation of meaningful and profitable business relationships
between outsourcers and service providers. Feedback on this years
expo both locally and internationally has been extremely positive,
and we will leverage this goodwill to deliver an even stronger event
next year, said Reyes.
Concurrent
to the expo, CITEM will organize
a two-day business conference. The conference will feature presentations
and panel discussions by local and international business and ITES
executives as well as top Philippine government officials.
Panel
discussions will be concerned with a range of pressing issues, including
branding the Philippines as an outsourcing destination of choice,
the technological imperatives of global competitiveness, and sustaining
the demand for skilled manpower by enhancing educational infrastructure.
A global research firm specializing in ITES will provide an overview
of e-services trends that will shape the business landscape over
the next half decade.

Summersault
is officially awarded ISO
9001:2000 accreditation in a ceremony held at their head office.
On November
8th, 2004 the Governing Board of Certification International Philippines,
awarded Summersault, Inc. a Certification of Registration to ISO
9001:2000 for its provision of Business Process Outsourcing services.
Cecile
Malay, Summersault's Head of quality, explained "This certification
confirmed that our integrated outsourced services based in Manila,
Philippines have conformed to stringent international standards
for achieving process quality, a high level of service and a system
for continuous improvement of quality throughout all departments."
"We
reached this milestone after ten months of putting in place clear,
thoroughly documented management and planning procedures designed
to ensure high-quality performance. We are all very proud that we
were able to achieve this throughout the organization without the
use of an external consultant."
Ms. Malay
also pointed out that "This has laid the foundation for ensuring
that all our current and future clients will achieve the high level
of focus and attention to quality in our day to day work, but in
addition to this we are also working on a number of other quality

BPO Company acquires Indian BPO company Daksh
of 22 business transformation delivery centres, adding capabilities in India and
the Philippines.
BPO Corp. is not new to using Philippines to deliver BPO services to its
customers. The 1,000 employees at its Manila subsidiary handle software
development for both BPO corp. and its clients.
The proposed acquisition of BPO-Philippines by Business Process
Outsourcing Corp. is a continuation of the consolidation in the
Philippine BPO industry, according to principal analyst for IT
services and BPO at Garter Research and Advisory Services.
"Successful BPO firms in the philippines that want to expand
further abroad, need the brand, marketing muscle and financial
support from a large multinational company or a large bpo house,"
ratad said. "The acquisition of BPO Corp. by BPO-Philippines will
fit into this category."
